Scotch Whisky Tasting - Ramada Inn Four Seasons Convention
Center in Downtown Gatlinburg
Greetings, One and all, You are cordially invitied to join us at
the annual Gatlinburg Highland Festival & Games
Whiskey Tasting! Come and join our famous ballader Colin
Grant-Adams and sample several varieties of marvelous Scotch whiskey.
Our friend Colin, born in Oban ,
Scotland, some years ago, (some say many- others attribute it to the
scotch); will guide you thru the mysteries of the different varieties of
Scotch whiskey as graciously donated by our friends "Cedar Bluff Wines and Spirits" 9149 Cross Park Dr, Knoxville, TN 37923. This fine folks as the ad says "We
support Scots and Scotch!" Indeed what is a gathering of Scots without
Scotch, which in Gaelic means "the breath of life!" The tasting will be held at the Ramada
Four Seasons Convention Center in downtown Gatlinburg. The tasing will
start promptly at 3pm, tickets are $10. each, and are limited in
number. Let Colin explain the subtle differences
between straight malt, blends, light and peaty whiskies, and the
differences in "casking." We hope to see you share a "wee dram"
with us on May 16th! "Slainte!"
6:00 p.m. -
GSF&G Parade - Must gather at 5:00 p.m. - Last stop light in
Gatlinburg
Come one, Come all to the annual GSF&G Parade, May 16th, 2008. This is
your chance to strut your stuff through down town Gatlinburg prior to
the Games. Grab you kilt, family and Clan and parade with us for just
about a mile in the middle of Gatlinburg. Show your clan pride and
tartan off. There will be several Pipe Bands, antique Jaguar cars and
the Clans. For those who don't march, we have a Gatlinburg Trolley
bringing up the end of the parade for you to ride & wave at the tourists
crowding the streets. This trolley will also return us to the starting
point. The start of the Parade is at the last stoplight in Gatlinburg,
just before you leave to enter the Smokey Mtns Nat'l Park. We start
forming up around 5 pm, but don't be late, because the parade starts
promptly at 6pm on the button. (Our Field Marshall and his assistants
are real time sticklers)! We hope to see you and your clan wow the
crowds in Gatlinburg!
