WHAT? GSF&G's First Ever Scottish Dog Parade & Talent Show WHEN? Sunday, May 16, 2010 @ 1:45 p.m. WHERE? Mills Park, Gatlinburg, TN on the Main Field of the Gatlinburg Scottish Festival & Games WHO? Any festival visitor who purchases a ticket to enter and brings their dog in on a short leash EVENTS? THE PARADE: 1:45 p.m. on Sunday at the Main Field at Mills Park. All dogs on short leash may participate and will be generally lined up by breeds. All will parade in a large circle in front of the grandstands while the P.A. Announcer will make a valiant attempt to identify the various breeds of dogs in the parade. There is no additional entry fee to participate in the parade. THE TALENT SHOW: 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Main Field at Mills Park. With all participating dogs lined around the field, dogs entered in this competition will each have 2 minutes to perform whatever it is that they do best with their master. There will be two categories of competition: 1) Athletic, and 2) Tricks or stunts, et al. Only 20 dogs will be permitted to enter and each will turn in an entry form and their $3.00 entry fee to the show director at least one hour before the show. The P.A. Announcer will point out the director on the side of the field beginning at 12:30 p.m. The competition will be judged by a panel of qualified dog trainers/experts who will determine which dogs in each category were most talented and entertaining. Standard dog competition rules will not be used. This is strictly an entertainment activity and judging criteria will be to pick the most talented and entertaining dog. This show is in no way sanctioned or affiliated with any Dog organization or group. It is solely for the purpose of having fun at a Scottish Festival Lovely, laser etched wooden plaques will be awarded the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place dogs in each category. Clip & detach entry form below
