The city of Gatlinburg sits in the Smokey Mountains at the junction
of
US441 and US321. It can be entered by three directions: North, South
and from the East. In the city all traffic lights are numbered and
provide ideal reference points for the traveler. All events
associated with the GSF&G can be easily found using the traffic
lights and simple directions.
While exit 407 on
I-40 is the most direct route when traveling east from Knoxville, it is
also the busiest route and traffic is often stacked up for miles on
weekends. Driving around to exit 435 and coming in from the east on
U.S. 321, through Cosby, is often the easiest way to get to Mills Park
as you don't need to go through the town of Gatlinburg to get to
the park. Turn right on Mills Park road at the Buckhorn center or
a bit further to the high school parking which is about 4 miles east of
Gatlinburg. |
