at the Gatlinburg Scottish Festival & Highland Games
Dear Clan or Society Participant:
It is almost time to welcome you again to the beautiful Smoky Mountains for the 27th Annual Gatlinburg Scottish Festival and Games, which will be held May 15-18, 2008. Our honored clan this year is Clan Fraser.
On Thursday evening, there will be a reception to welcome Patrons at the Ramada Inn 4 Seasons. On Friday, we will once again have the famous Mountain Stroll. Everyone is welcome to join us in the lobby of the Sugarlands Visitor’s Center at 9:30 a.m. Participation is free and reservations are not necessary. Friday evening begins with the Grand Parade down the Gatlinburg Parkway. All Scots are invited to gather at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the former Burning Bush Restaurant, and march promptly at 6:00 p.m.
On Saturday morning, the gates and field open at 8:00 a.m. at Mills Park. No cars are allowed on the field, but there will be help available for unloading. Remember that NO pets are allowed at the Games. We will again have our Clan Challenge competition. The Games continue on Sunday with the gates opening at 8:30 a.m. The worship service will be at 9:30 a.m. We need your list of distinguished visitors, Chieftains, the highest ranking individual in your clan and Flowers of the Forest by 15 March 2008, so that they can be included in the program. If the clans show interest, we will provide a tent for clan meetings to be signed up for 2 hour blocks on a first come, first served basis.
